Rose

This article is about roses in general, later I will post about specific roses. Roses in general want full sun but some can tolerate some shade, roses in general want higher water but some can take less. In general the more petals a rose has determines the higher water roses. Roses need fertilizer, and are a rather particular plant to grow especially in coastal San Diego. Roses don't want water on their leaves, and so the high humidity coastally usually gives them a white powdery mildew which easy to see. “According to fossil evidence, the rose is 35 million years old. In nature the genus rosa has some 150 species spread throughout the Northern Hemisphere, from Alaska to Mexico and including Northern Africa”. Link to source
